Deuter Futura 25 SL hiking backpack for shorter backs
The Futura 25 SL suits hikers who want a close, stable carry with airflow on warm trails. Its women-specific SL construction is also intended for some users with slimmer builds or shorter torsos. Check your back length before choosing this model, since body height alone does not determine fit.
Organised day-hike storage
External stretch pockets, a zipped top pocket, hip-fin pockets and a wet compartment keep frequently used items separated and within reach.
- Key clip and glasses stow system.
- External side compression straps.
- Rain cover stored in its own compartment.

Who is the Deuter Futura 25 SL designed for?
It uses Deuter’s SL women-specific fit for a 38–48 cm back length and a stated 158–178 cm body-height range. It can also suit some users with slimmer builds or shorter torsos, but back length should be checked before purchase.
Is this a good 25L day hiking backpack?
The 25L capacity and 4–8 kg recommended load are suited to day hikes and lighter outdoor trips. It is not presented as a multi-day trekking pack.
Is a hydration reservoir included?
The pack is compatible with a hydration system up to 3L. The reservoir itself is not listed as included on the official feature page, so please do not assume one is supplied.
Does the Futura 25 SL include a rain cover?
Yes, Deuter lists a rain cover as included. It helps protect the contents in changing weather, but it does not make the backpack fully waterproof.
What are the dimensions and weight?
The official exact-model specifications list 52 × 28 × 20 cm (L × W × D) and 1,210 g. The supplier page shows different approximate figures, so the official figures are used here.
